During National Credit Union Youth Month, we are offering some great incentives for our local community to come together and help educate our youth about financial literacy in a fun and exciting way!
We will have a coloring contest and/or short essay contest where anyone ages 17 and under are welcome to send us their submission for a chance to win a gift card and possibly be placed in Peoples FCU’s 2024 Calendar. If you open an account during April, then you are entered to win a grand prize drawing. Oh! Don’t worry! We haven’t forgotten about those youth accounts already established with Peoples FCU. If you make a deposit into your account during the month of April, you will be entered to win a grand prize drawing, too! That’s THREE separate grand prize drawings for simply taking steps to create healthy financial habits.
On the last Saturday of April, we will celebrate the efforts the youth in our community put forth to better understand the importance of finances by having a fun and FREE event from 11a-1p at our Nitro Branch. There will be light refreshments, entertainment, activities, and giveaways.
During the event on Saturday, April 29th, you will be able to submit your coloring contest and/or short essay for a chance to win the grand prizes. We will also have a member services representative available to open your accounts, and our tellers will be available until 12p to receive any deposits you would like to make.
We look forward to seeing you throughout the month of April and cannot wait to create long-lasting financial success with each of you.
Coloring Contest:
1. Draw a picture of what you want to save for.
2. If money were no option, draw a picture of your dream vacation, home, a place to visit, or activity you want to try.

Writing Contest:
1.“What do you know about money?”
2.“What’s a good use for money?”
3.“If money were no option, and you could go anywhere, where would you go?”
4.“Write an advertisement for saving and spending.”
5.“If money were no option, what would your dream job be?”
The 12 Top entries will receive a $25.00 Domino’s Gift Card and will get a chance to be in the 2024 PFCU Calendar.
